Colt Firearms 1911 Optic Plate Features The Colt Firearms 1911 Optic Plate is engineered for seamless mounting of red dot sights onto optics-ready Colt 1911 pistols. Crafted from high-strength stainless steel the plate is built to withstand the recoil forces and repeated cycling a duty or competition 1911 sees over its service life. A matte black nitride finish adds corrosion resistance and abrasion resistance so the plate holds up to holster wear and field conditions without degrading. Its RMR footprint directly accepts Trijicon RMR and RMR Type 2 optics giving shooters a well-supported option in the red dot market. Installing this plate lets a Colt 1911 owner upgrade to a modern red dot setup without sending the slide out for custom milling preserving the factory finish while adding capability. The RMR pattern s wide availability means shooters have flexibility in choosing a reflex sight that suits their intended use whether duty carry competition or range work. A properly mounted optic plate also helps maintain co-witness potential with factory or aftermarket iron sights depending on sight height. For Colt 1911 owners seeking a durable factory-matched path to red dot readiness this optic plate delivers a dependable upgrade.
