Bootleg Smuggler Stripped Lower Receiver Features The Bootleg Smuggler is machined from 7075 billet aluminum and designed to pair directly with Bootleg s own upper receiver giving builders a matched purpose-built foundation for their AR-15. At just 9.85 ounces the receiver is lightweight without sacrificing the strength that comes from billet construction and the mil-spec hard anodized black finish protects it against wear and corrosion over years of use. An ambidextrous bolt release knob along with the parts needed for installation allows the shooter to drop the bolt with either hand a genuine functional advantage for left-handed shooters or anyone training to run the gun from either side. A hex head adjustable set screw lets the builder dial in a custom tight fit of the rear takedown lug against any mil-spec upper receiver eliminating the wobble sometimes found on mixed-brand builds. Bootleg also added several small but meaningful details to the Smuggler beyond raw functionality. Hex headed threaded pins make installation and future maintenance of the ambidextrous bolt release knobs safer and easier than traditional roll pins. A hex set screw contains the rear takedown detent spring eliminating the frustrating juggling act of holding a spring and back plate in place during installation. The lower features a fully enclosed trigger guard and a lightly flared magwell to speed up magazine changes and it is ready to accept any mil-spec lower parts kit a builder chooses. This is a thoughtfully engineered stripped lower for anyone building a rifle meant to handle rigorous training while still looking sharp for years to come.
