Ballistic Advantage AR-15 Barrel Features The Ballistic Advantage Performance Series Barrel is machined from Chrome Moly Vanadium steel a material chosen for its strength and resistance to wear under sustained firing. A QPQ corrosion resistant finish is applied over the black barrel providing a hard low-friction surface that helps the barrel resist rust and fouling buildup over time. The barrel s 1:7 twist rate stabilizes a wide range of 5.56 bullet weights from lighter varmint loads up to heavier match and tactical projectiles. At 13.7 inches the barrel suits a mid-length gas system build balancing handling and velocity for a versatile AR-15 rifle. A nickel boron coated extended M4 feed ramp extension is machined into the barrel to improve reliability during the critical feeding stage of the cycle helping rounds chamber smoothly from the magazine. The barrel ships threaded at a standard 1/2x28 pitch making it compatible with the wide range of muzzle brakes compensators and suppressors built for that thread pattern. Weighing 25 ounces the barrel adds a moderate amount of weight appropriate for a mid-length gas system without becoming unwieldy on the rifle. For AR-15 builders looking for a durable well-finished barrel upgrade the Ballistic Advantage Performance Series Barrel delivers solid performance at a mid-length profile.
