Thompson Center Encore Pro Hunter Features The TC ARMS Encore Pro Hunter is precision rifled for use with sabot slugs and the barrel is CNC precision machined and brush honed to tighten tolerances and improve consistency shot to shot. The Swing Hammer mechanism a patented Thompson Center design lets the hammer spur pivot to either side of the frame so both left and right-handed hunters get a natural unobstructed thumb reach to cock the action. A nitride coated trigger and sear along with a nitride coated firing pin and bushing improve wear resistance and help the action stay smooth through repeated use in the field. The receiver is drilled and tapped for a scope giving hunters a straightforward path to mount optics for precise shot placement on sabot slug loads at extended range. The FlexTech stock is fitted with a LimbSaver AirTech recoil pad that absorbs and disperses recoil energy an important feature on a rifled 20 gauge slug gun generating meaningful felt recoil. Overmolded grip panels on the forend and grip areas provide secure purchase even in wet or cold conditions common to late-season hunts. Perhaps the platform s signature feature is barrel interchangeability letting the same Encore receiver accept shotgun muzzleloader or rifle barrels so one investment covers multiple hunting seasons and applications. At approximately 7 pounds with a 36 inch overall length the Encore Pro Hunter stays maneuverable in a blind or ground stand while delivering the accuracy a dedicated slug gun demands.
