Sinclair International Lug Recess Cleaning Tool Features The Sinclair International Lug Recess Cleaning Tool is designed to address a specific maintenance gap on AR-15 and .308 AR rifles: the lug recess area which regularly collects grease and fouling that standard bore brushes and patches cannot reach. The tool works by compressing a cotton roll and then releasing it so it expands to fill the recess allowing it to be rotated against the surface for a thorough scrub. Used wet with solvent the tool breaks down built-up carbon and grease effectively restoring smooth bolt lockup. A dry cotton roll pass afterward removes any remaining solvent and debris for a clean finish. Each tool ships with a bag of roughly 50 cotton rolls giving owners plenty of cleaning cycles before needing to restock consumables. Regular cleaning of the lug recess area helps ensure reliable cycling and reduces wear from accumulated grime in a critical contact area. This tool fills a gap that most standard cleaning kits do not address making it a valuable addition for anyone who maintains their own AR-platform rifle. For shooters serious about long-term reliability and proper maintenance this tool offers a simple and effective solution.
