Barrett M99 Features The Barrett M99 is purpose built around the massive .50 BMG cartridge using a simple robust single shot bolt action design rather than a magazine fed repeater to maximize reliability with this powerful round. The 32 barrel gives the .50 BMG cartridge ample length to reach its full velocity potential translating to flatter trajectories and more retained energy at extreme distances than shorter barreled .50 caliber rifles. Finished in Flat Dark Earth the rifle carries a distinctive field ready appearance suited to long range shooting in a variety of environments. A single round chambering keeps the action light and mechanically simple compared to a repeating .50 BMG rifle. The Mark 4HD stock system is engineered specifically to manage the substantial recoil generated by the .50 BMG cartridge helping shooters stay on target and recover quickly between shots. Barrett has built its reputation on producing some of the most respected .50 caliber rifles in the world trusted by long range shooters military units and collectors alike. The M99 s straightforward single shot design also makes it an accessible entry point into .50 BMG shooting for those who want to experience the cartridge without the complexity or cost of a semi-automatic platform. Backed by Barrett s decades of experience building large caliber precision rifles the M99 offers a dependable purpose built option for serious long range shooters.
