This is a great used Springfield 1898 for sale chambered in 30-40 caliber. The barrel length is 30 inches long and this was manufactured 1901. The bore is in excellent shape. The finish on the barrel is good to very good and covers most of the barrel and receiver, but some of it has turned brown patina. The receiver has wear. The stock is in great shape with normal handling wear. There are 2 numbers next to the trigger group which is the number 60. There is a fancy letter P cartouche on the bottom of the wrist. On the left side of the wood in fancy lettering is JPA inside a rectangle. This cartouche is excellent. The recoil plate is in good shape with finish wear. Functionally this rifle works great.
