evo.com | Faction Skis > Need an all-mountain ski that doesn't force you to ski like your dad (or his day) and still lets you meander switch in front of the kids? The Faction Studio 2 Skis really are that versatile, with a 102mm waist and a playful nature that'll make you smile every time you get on them. Faction starts with their classic lightweight Poplar core and adds Carbon Stringers for pop and a Carbon Rubber Stomp Pad so your feet don't sting when you land hard. We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width. Sintered UHMW Base XL 2.5mm Edges Fractions of a millimeter might not sound like much, but when it comes to edges, it adds up. The 2.5mm edges add an extra 25% of height to Faction's standard 2mm edge, making for a stronger and more durable ski. Flex Rating 7 (1 = Soft, 10 = Stiff) Full Carbon Weave Between 8 and 12 strips of carbon, sandwiching either side of the ski's woodcore, are laid unidirectionally, providing extra stability to the ski, without adding weight to the build. Each carbon strip is woven into the fiberglass to provide strength and stiffness in the full length of the ski. Freeride enthusiasts looking to drive wider skis without fear of pre-release have long looked to the Marker Griffon 13 ID Ski Bindings for their fantastic performance and reliability. They return with a re-worked Inter Pivot 3 heelpiece that significantly improves step in performance, thus eliminating the one qualm that some users had. Meanwhile, the redesigned Triple Pivot Elite 3 toe comes equipped with a new metal rail to scratch off ice and snow below your boot sole. And with Sole.ID technology to accommodate almost every boot sole norm, the Marker Griffon 13 ID Ski Bindings have you covered each and every time you click in. We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width. AFD Gliding Plate All Marker bindings (except the Jester Pro) are equipped with a moveable AFD (Anti Friction Device), allowing a precise release unhindered by dirt, snow, and ice buildup. The type of AFD is matched to the skier type, ensuring perfect functionality from racing to junior and even alpine touring. Triple Pivot Elite 3 Toe Toe construction with impressive retention when freeriding. The spring in the toe is inserted horizontally and with a sole plate inclined by 5deg it provides the highest energy absorption so as to reduce the risk of early release. The large supporting surface optimizes the power transmission and allows for great stresses and strains. Inter Pivot 3 Heel The newest generation Inter Pivot heel offers improved step-in performance, with a magnesium heel bracket for power transmission and energy absorption.
