Product Description

The first synthetic climbing rope made from renewable raw materials. The BIRDLIME 1R is the first synthetic climbing rope to be made from renewable bio-based raw materials, therefore representing a further pioneering achievement by EDELRID with regard to responsible climbing equipment. More than 40% of the rope is made from castor-oil-based material, i.e. from a raw material made from renewable components. By employing this renewable resource, we reduce (1R) our usage of fossil raw materials and show that polyamide based on renewable raw materials can be used even when manufacturing personal protective equipment. With a 9.8 mm diameter and Thermo Shield treatment, the BIRDLIME 1R is a robust all-round rope for versatile use. It presents a further option for all those who value responsible equipment.
