Introducing the Faxon FX7 Rifle Action. The Faxon FX7 is a precision bolt action receiver manufactured by Faxon Firearms in Cincinnati, Ohio. It is built on the Remington 700 short-action footprint - the most widely supported standard in custom rifle building - which means it accepts Remington 700 pattern triggers, stocks, chassis systems (KRG, MDT, Magpul, XLR, Manners, McMillan), and scope bases without modification. The receiver body is machined from 416 stainless steel and finished with Faxon's DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating, a PVD process that produces a mirror-like surface while significantly increasing surface hardness, reducing friction, and improving corrosion resistance compared to traditional bluing, Cerakote, or standard nitride finishes. The bolt is machined from 4340 carbon steel with the same Polished DLC treatment and features Faxon's signature flame fluting - a design element borrowed from their industry-leading barrel line.
