The DPMS Shortacle is a compact AR pistol built around a 10.5" barrel chambered in 300 BLK. That is the pairing the cartridge was built around, and it burns most of its powder before the bullet clears the muzzle, so a short barrel costs far less here than it would in 5.56. A pistol length gas system keeps the action running and an A2 flash hider up front knocks down the fireball that short barrels throw. The CAR-15 blade brace rides on a six position receiver extension, so the gun collapses for storage and transport and extends back out for shooting.A 9.5" M-LOK handguard covers most of the barrel and leaves room for a light, a hand stop, or a sling mount wherever the shooter wants one. The upper is flat top and a Vortex SPARC red dot comes mounted, so the only setup left is a zero. Controls are standard AR, which means anyone who has run an AR-15 already knows where everything sits. One 30 round magazine is included. Subsonic 300 BLK loads pair well with a can later on, and supersonic loads keep the gun useful at carbine distances.
