Berger Match Grade 300 PRC 217 Grain Elite Hunter factory ammunition is precision-engineered for long-range hunting and ethical harvesting of medium to large game. Built around a premier hybrid ogive projectile design, this round blends the forgiving seating traits of a tangent profile with the low-drag efficiency of a secant shape. The projectile is formed with an ultra-thin, highly uniform J4 Hunting Jacket that delays expansions slightly until it achieves two to three inches of penetration, creating catastrophic hydrostatic shock exactly inside the vitals. This load yields an average muzzle velocity of 2,800 to 2,875 feet per second out of a standard test barrel, retaining ample downrange kinetic energy for clean drops at extended hunting distances. Its exceptionally tight core consistency prevents standard lot-to-lot weight discrepancies, giving serious precision marksmen reliable drops and superior wind-bucking confidence across changing field variables.
