"What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying: ""I’ve taken the Summit Fastpack GORE-TEX on everything from soggy alpine scrambles to dusty desert traverses, and it’s become my favorite long-distance trail hiker. The DREAM foam midsole is incredibly responsive without feeling squishy, and I trust the Vibram outsole on any terrain. Even after 15+ miles, my feet feel supported, dry, and ready for more.""For the miles that push our limits, the Summit Fastpack GORE-TEX Boot from The North Face delivers comfort and performance that won’t back down. Designed for ultra-distance hiking and mixed-terrain travel, this shoe brings speed-hiker agility together with backpacking durability. Whether we’re chasing daylight on a big-mile day or navigating technical mountain passes, we rely on the fastpack’s dialed fit and ultralight cushioning to stay fresh on our feet. The waterproof Spectra ripstop upper and PFAS-free GORE-TEX membrane shield us from wet brush, surprise creek crossings, and rainy skies, while a scratch-resistant toe cap guards against rugged trail debris. Underfoot, the dual-layer midsole combines nitrogen-infused DREAM foam and a stability chassis for a springy yet structured feel. The 5mm Vibram Megagrip lugs offer grip in conditions from slick roots to loose gravel. Built for the long haul, this is the kind of footwear we trust on the trail's toughest days."
