What Our Gearhead(R) Experts Are Saying:"I had these out on a wet, rocky approach, and the grip gave me a lot of confidence right away. The waterproof lining kept things dry through puddles and damp sections, and the fit felt precise when I needed it on the scramble."When the approach starts dry but ends in wet rock and shifting terrain, the Crux 2 GTX Approach Shoe from Scarpa gives us the confidence to keep moving without second-guessing each step. It's built for routes where weather changes quickly, and the trail doesn't stay predictable, carrying us from packed dirt to exposed rock with steady control. A GORE-TEX membrane keeps moisture out while still allowing heat to escape on longer pushes, helping us stay comfortable through changing conditions. Underfoot, the Vibram(R) outsole with Megagrip compound grips securely on slick rock and loose ground, while a stable midsole supports uneven terrain without feeling overly stiff. The suede and mesh upper adds durability for rugged use, and the lace-to-toe system lets us dial in a precise fit when the route demands more accuracy.
