What Our Gearhead(R) Experts Are Saying:"I wore the Soft Ridge Pant on a hike that turned rainy halfway up. The water-resistant shell kept the drizzle off, and the ripstop fabric shrugged off a few scrapes against loose rock without a mark."A trail that starts dry and turns wet halfway up is where the Soft Ridge Pant earns its keep. The water-resistant shell fends off drizzle and light spray without needing a rain layer on top, while the ripstop nylon holds up against branches, rock scrambles, and anything else the climb throws at it. The relaxed, tapered fit moves easily through long stretches of trail, and the mid-rise waist with adjustable drawstring keeps everything secure without a second thought. Waist pockets and ankle cuffs round it out for the descent, once the view at the top is the only thing left to focus on.
