The Fujinon Polaris 16x70 FMTR-SX Binoculars stand as a premier optical system meticulously built for astronomy, commercial maritime search-and-rescue, and extreme long-range surveillance. Engineered to strict military specifications, this Porro-prism instrument houses an elite field flattener lens design that actively eliminates edge-distortion and astigmatism to guarantee sharp focus from center-to-corner across the expansive 4-degree field of view. The massive 70mm objectives utilize Fujinon’s proprietary Electron Beam Coating (EBC) multi-coating to maximize light transmission up to 95 percent, providing outstanding optical contrast when scanning the night sky or low-visibility ocean horizone. Built to endure severe marine climates, the 100% waterproof chassis features an individual-focus eyepiece ring system wrapped in an impact-absorbing, non-slip textured rubber armor coating. Choosing this iconic piece of high-performance glass provides professional-grade alignment, robust weather-proofing, and optimal light-gathering power required to resolve distant stars or distant tracking vessels.
