"Men's Altra® Torin ST: The Men's Altra Torin ST is a stability road running shoe built for daily training, long runs, and the kind of consistent mileage that demands both cushioning and reliable support. It runs on a Zero Drop™ platform with equal 30mm of stack front to back, so your foot sits level from heel to toe - a setup that encourages a more natural foot strike without the abrupt heel-to-toe transition you get in traditionally stacked shoes. GuideRail™ Technology adds light medial guidance to keep your stride on a natural path during longer efforts, without the rigid feel of a traditional stability post. If you want support that works with your gait rather than against it, this is the kind of shoe that earns its place in a regular rotation. The Altra EGO™ MAX foam midsole gives the Torin ST a soft, cushioned feel underfoot that holds up through easy miles and still has enough response for tempo work. The FootShape™ toe box widens at the front to match natural foot anatomy, giving your toes room to spread and settle without any pinching at the sides. A lightweight, open-weave mesh upper keeps airflow moving around the foot, and the updated heel shape with elevated tongue adds lockdown without creating pressure points. At 10.4 ounces, it carries a bit of substance underfoot - which makes sense given the cushioning on offer - but it never feels like it's working against you.Why Our Fit Experts Love This Shoe""I put the Torin ST through a longer easy run and noticed how the GuideRail kept things feeling steady without making the shoe feel stiff. The foam has a soft landing, but it doesn't feel dead by mile eight - and the wide toe box is something I wish more stability shoes offered."" - Dave, Road Runner Sports Fit Expert, San Diego, CAWho It's Best ForIf you want a cushioned stability shoe for road running that supports a natural foot strike without overcorrecting your gait, the Torin ST is worth a serious look. It works well for runners who log consistent daily mileage, prefer a zero-drop platform, or have wider feet that feel cramped in more tapered shoes. The combination of GuideRail™ support and EGO™ MAX cushioning makes it a strong option for easy days, long runs, and recovery miles where comfort and stability both matter.
