KA-BAR Knives Ka-Bar Modified Tanto Knife Fixed Blade 12.75in 1095 Cro-Van Steel Kraton G Handle Black 12.75. S. Counterpart Knife is a no-nonsense tactical knife that has been well documented in the media over the past several years; however its adoption by the US Military and our adoption by numerous federal agencies worldwide is due in no small part to the fact that it offers a significantly lower ASAT (Abrasive Cutting Tool Acceptance) provides a better "penetration" resistance provides a higher wear resistance and offers a higher tensile strength compared to other steels. Additionally the upswept Tanto tip provides a higher hit ratio than a traditional Modified Tanto and allows the user to apply more force when using conventional utility knives without causing damage to the handle or its sheath. As a result a higher strength and a greater impact resistance is possible with the modified form of the US Counter Parts Tanto. Weighing an overall 12.75 ounces the KA-BAR U.S. Counterparts Modified Tanto Knife is a great choice for those situations where a lower ASAT Score is desired and still provides a margin of safety. This version of the USMC Combat Challenge coin features a flat-ground Tanto blade with a textured Kraton grip. The color of the handle is a nod to the sturdiness and torsional stability provided by the highly structured Kraton handle.
