The Leica 50504 Calonox SE: Compact and Cost-Effective Thermal MonocularThe Leica Calonox Sight SE is a thermal optic that provides high-quality performance at an affordable price point. Designed as a clip-on device, the Calonox Sight SE offers excellent image quality and intuitive operation, without the added features of Bluetooth connectivity and hand-held function. This streamlined approach allows for a reduction in cost while maintaining top-of-the-line thermal imaging capabilities. Featuring a large 42mm lens and a vanadium oxide (VOx) sensor with 394x288 pixels and a pixel size of 17 µm, the Calonox Sight SE is capable of detecting heat signatures up to 2000 yards away, recognizing them at 800 yards, and delivering ultra-precise identification on heat signatures 500 yards away. Leica's proprietary Image Optimization (LIO) algorithms further enhance the image quality, providing clear and detailed visuals of the target. The Calonox Sight SE is equipped with an OLED display that can project heat signatures in four different color palettes: Red Hot, White Hot, Black Hot, and Rainbow. This feature allows the user to select the most appropriate color palette based on the environment and conditions, providing better accuracy and precision. Installation of the Calonox Sight SE is a breeze, with tutorial videos available on Leica's website. Additionally, the internal battery has an 8 to 11-hour runtime, and the device is compatible with external USB power banks for extended usage.
