What Our Gearhead(R) Experts Are Saying:"I rack this Friend Set 0. 4-3 for everything from desert splitters to granite corners, and the consistency is what keeps me coming back. The action feels smooth, the lobes grip well on polished stone, and the extendable slings save me a surprising amount of hassle on wandering pitches."When we're gearing up for long days in the mountains or heading for clean sandstone splitters, the Wild Country Friend Set 0. 4-3 gives us a foundation we trust. These cams preserve the heritage of the original Friend while incorporating modern refinements-precise dual axles, polished cam lobes, and extendable slings that streamline the rack as we move up varied crack systems. As cracks widen and narrow across a pitch, the familiar 13. 75deg cam angle and smooth action offer reliable placement and predictable holding power. Hollow axles reduce weight without compromising strength, while the extendable Dyneema sling cuts down on rope drag and simplifies gear choices in the moment. In complex terrain-deep corners, flares, pods, and smooth-sided breaks-this set gives us the range and confidence we need to commit upward.
