The Pedersoli 1795 Springfield Muzzleloading Rifle Kit is a replica of the first military gun produced at the Springfield Arsenal in Massachusetts. The musket was inspired by the French Charleville Mod.1763 musket. The War Ministry secretary, Timothy Pickering, suggested using the Charleville design since Springfield's warehouse possessed many Charleville parts. Many American gunsmiths were also used to making repairs on the muskets which made using the design even more appealing. The Model 1795 had a production run of about 85,000 units until production ceased in 1814. Pedersoli's Springfield replica rifle is reproduced faithfully to match the original manufactured models between 1799 and 1802; all of the furniture is made of steel, the stock is made of walnut, the barrel is smooth bored and made of chrome.FeaturesRifle kit - requires assembly and finishing69 caliber, smooth-bore barrel like the original 1799-1802 modelsPerfect for early-American Historical reenactingFaithfully rep...
