"Men's Altra® Lone Peak 9+ GTX: When the trail gets wet and the weather turns, the Altra® Lone Peak 9+ GTX keeps you moving. This men's waterproof trail hiking shoe pairs a GORE-TEX Invisible Fit upper with a Vibram® Megagrip outsole, so you get reliable protection from the elements and confident traction whether the ground is wet or dry. If you spend time on technical terrain and don't want weather dictating your plans, this is the shoe for it.The GORE-TEX Invisible Fit upper is lightweight, breathable, and backed by the GORE-TEX GUARANTEED TO KEEP YOU DRY™ promise - real waterproof performance without the bulk. Underfoot, the Altra EGO™ midsole foam gives you a slightly cushioned, grounded feel that keeps you connected to the trail. The Vibram® Megagrip rubber compound grips confidently on both wet and dry surfaces and holds up over long miles of rugged use. A shortened toe cap adds protection without sacrificing flexibility, and the GaiterTrap™ hook-and-loop tab makes strapless gaiter attachment simple when conditions call for it. Altra's FootShape™ Fit gives the toe box extra room so your toes can spread naturally, with added space through the midfoot for a comfortable, secure fit. The drop is 0 mm, keeping your foot in a natural position from heel to toe.Why Our Fit Experts Love This Shoe""I took these out on a wet, muddy trail and didn't think twice about the puddles - the GORE-TEX kept my feet completely dry the whole time. The Vibram outsole grips really well on slick rock and loose dirt, and the wide toe box is a big deal if you've ever had your toes cramped up on a long hike."" - Dave, Road Runner Sports Fit Expert, San Diego, CAWho It's Best ForIf you hike or trail run in unpredictable weather and want a waterproof shoe that doesn't feel stiff or heavy, the Lone Peak 9+ GTX is worth a serious look. Runners and hikers who use gaiters regularly will appreciate the built-in GaiterTrap™ attachment.
