"What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:""This is one of the warmest ultralight layers I’ve ever used. It’s super packable, and the weather resistance holds up surprisingly well in windy conditions. I love it for cold belays, alpine starts, or stuffing into my pack just in case.""When the forecast calls for fast-moving fronts and freezing temps, the SuperStrand XT Hooded Jacket is what we pack. Lightweight and breathable without compromising on warmth, this alpine-ready layer features VerticalX™ SuperStrand insulation mapped through the torso and arms, balancing heat retention and airflow for active pursuits. The shell fabric is Pertex Quantum NetPlus®, built from recycled fishing nets and engineered to be both wind-resistant and highly durable—ideal for high-exertion days in rugged terrain. Thoughtful details like a stuff sack chest pocket, helmet-compatible hood, and low-profile elastic cuffs make it a powerhouse for summit pushes and backcountry transitions."
