The Shimano Butterfly Flat-Fall Jig in Size 100 is a premium slow-pitch vertical jig designed for offshore and inshore saltwater fishing, revolutionizing traditional butterfly jigging with its unique flat-fall action. This 100g (3.52 oz) model excels in mid-water column targeting, mimicking injured baitfish with a wobbling, horizontal descent that keeps it in the strike zone longer than standard butterfly jigs. Ideal for species like tuna, yellowtail, kingfish, grouper, calico bass, and rockfish, it&';s particularly effective in West Coast kelp beds or over reefs. The hydrodynamic flat keel ensures a fluttering fall, while the center-balanced design promotes bites on the drop. Crafted with high-quality materials, it comes pre-rigged with two Owner Dancing Stinger hooks on 250 lb PowerPro assist cord for reliable hookups. Available in multiple colors to match local forage, this jig pairs best with 300-600g-class jigging rods (like the Daiwa Proteus EX) and high-gear-ratio reels spooled with 40-65 lb braid. As of October 2025, prices range from $18-$25 depending on retailer and color; check sites like Tackle Express or TackleDirect for stock.
