What Our Gearhead(R) Experts Are Saying:"I fish this line when I'm targeting selective trout, especially on slower rods like glass or bamboo. The taper loads gently, lands soft, and still has enough stability to reach out when risers sit farther away."We choose the Amplitude Smooth Trout Expert Fly Line when our days revolve around delicate casts, small flies, and trout that make us work for every rise. Scientific Anglers builds this line true to weight, giving us a natural loading feel that pairs beautifully with medium-action, glass, or bamboo rods. The AST Plus additive reduces friction and boosts durability, helping the line shoot smoothly when long-distance precision becomes the difference between a refusal and a take. As we stalk fish along cutbanks, slick glides, and quiet seams, the elongated front taper becomes the star-allowing us to land dries and small nymphs with the subtlety required for wary trout. A braided multifilament core keeps handling consistent in cool-to-warm conditions, and the extended head length supports stable loops when we're casting beyond typical rise ranges. The Amplitude Smooth Trout Expert Fly Line becomes a trusted companion for technical water where finesse matters and long sits behind a rising fish feel like part of the rhythm.
