What Our Gearhead(R) Experts Are Saying:"I won't ride busy roads without a radar anymore, and this one gives me earlier, clearer alerts than previous versions. The wider field of view and strong tail light make it easier to anticipate cars, especially on fast descents or rolling rural highways."When the road stretches out behind us and traffic ebbs and flows at our backs, we want more than a mirror-we want awareness. The Garmin Varia RearVue 820 Radar Tail Light gives us a clearer picture of what's approaching so we can focus on pacing, positioning, and the ride ahead. With enhanced radar tracking that detects vehicles up to 175 meters away, we receive reliable visual and audible alerts through compatible Edge cycling computers, Garmin smartwatches, or the Varia app. The bright tail light is visible from over a mile away and adds a brake light function that changes its flash pattern when we slow or stop. Multiple light modes, including day flash, night flash, solid, and peloton mode, adapt to group rides or solo efforts. A compact design and updated seatpost mount integrate cleanly with most road and gravel setups, delivering advanced rear awareness without cluttering our bike.
