"Men's New Balance® Fresh Foam X Hierro Trek: The Fresh Foam X Hierro Trek is a men's trail running shoe that brings together real trail protection and all-day comfort for neutral runners who want to move confidently on dirt, gravel, and uneven ground. Fresh Foam X cushioning keeps each step comfortable over longer outings, while a wide, stable platform gives you a grounded, controlled feel when the terrain gets rocky. Whether you're logging miles on a technical trail or mixing in some hiking, this shoe handles the variety without making you work for it.The reinforced textile upper flexes with your foot while shielding it from trail debris, and the structured toe and sidewalls add a layer of protection against roots and rocks. At 13.4 ounces with a 4 mm heel-to-toe drop, the Hierro Trek sits in a practical middle ground - substantial enough for rugged conditions, but not so heavy that it slows you down on longer efforts. The rugged rubber outsole grips across dirt, gravel, and wet surfaces, so traction stays consistent as conditions change underfoot. Why Our Fit Experts Love This Shoe""I took these out on a mixed trail with some loose gravel and a few rooty sections, and they handled it without any drama. The cushioning felt solid the whole way through, and I liked that the toe box held up when I clipped a rock - you don't always notice that protection until you actually need it."" - Michael, Road Runner Sports Fit Expert, Seattle WAWho It's Best ForIf you're a neutral runner looking for a trail shoe that works across a range of conditions - from packed dirt to loose gravel to light hiking - the Men's New Balance Fresh Foam X Hierro Trek is worth a close look.
