"Men's Merrell® Moab Speed 2: If you spend your weekends on trails that don't follow a straight line, the Men's Merrell Moab Speed 2 is a hiking shoe worth knowing. It's built for rugged, technical terrain where you need cushioning that holds up over miles and traction that doesn't quit when the ground gets unpredictable. The FloatPro™ Foam midsole keeps things light underfoot while absorbing the impact of uneven surfaces, so your legs feel fresher deeper into the day.The FlexPlate™ technology inside the midsole gives the shoe torsional rigidity and lateral stability without locking the forefoot into a stiff, unnatural stride - you get support where the trail demands it and flexibility where your foot needs to move. The Vibram® TC5+ outsole handles the grip work, with traction lugs designed to bite into the ground and shed debris as you move. An abrasion-resistant synthetic heel and toe cap round out the protection, keeping the shoe durable on rocky, technical paths. The 10mm heel-to-toe drop promotes a balanced stride, and sizing runs up a half size, so keep that in mind when ordering. Why Our Fit Experts Love This Shoe""I took these out on a trail with a lot of loose rock and some steep sections, and the Vibram outsole really held its own. What I noticed most was how stable the shoe felt on side-hill terrain without feeling rigid through the forefoot. Good all-day shoe for someone who covers a lot of ground on the trail."" - Michael, Road Runner Sports Fit Expert, Seattle WAWho It's Best ForIf you're a hiker or trail runner who logs long days on technical, obstacle-filled terrain and wants a shoe that balances cushioning with real traction and stability, the Moab Speed 2 is a strong fit.
