Radar-based launch monitors can struggle to accurately measure data points indoors because they aren't able to capture a full rotation of the golf ball as it comes off the face before it hits the screen. The inclusion of liquid silver printed in a nonsymmetrical infinity pattern inside the cover of TKR-R balls emits highly reflective waves that allows radar-based launch monitors, like Trackman, to accurately pick up ball spin. PERFORMANCE TP5 and TP5x TRK-R golf balls are ideal for commercial indoor fitting facilities and hitting bays as well as in-home radar-based simulator setups (ie. Trackman and Full Swing Kit). Camera based simulators (ie. GCQuad and Full Swing Pro) will not see any benefits. Though TRK-R golf balls are designed for indoor use, they are USGA conforming and can be played in competition. TKR-R golf balls perform the same as non-TKR-R TP5 and TP5x golf balls due to the minimal amount of weight added by the silver print. TaylorMade performed extensive testing with TRK-R golf balls on Trackman launch monitors and received Trackman's certification on their capture.
