What Our Gearhead(R) Experts Are Saying: "I've used the ATC-Guide for years on trad and alpine climbs-it's super reliable for both lead belaying and bringing up a second. The guide mode is clutch on multi-pitch climbs, and I like how it feeds and catches smoothly with different rope diameters."When we're on multi-pitch missions or alpine linkups, the Black Diamond ATC-Guide is always clipped to our harness. Its versatile design handles lead belays, rappels, and bringing up a second with ease, all while staying impressively lightweight. The device offers a smooth feed and catch with ropes of varying diameters, and the auto-block guide mode adds security and efficiency when managing partners from above. Whether we're tackling a sandstone tower or navigating icy granite, the ATC-Guide gives us the friction control and reliability we need.
