On this barbless model the shank curves gradually down toward the rear of the hook to balance the slightly up-turned eye, so it rides as a straight-eye hook would in the water. This is an excellent choice for caddis pupa imitations, floating nymphs, emergers, soft hackle flies, parachute dries, CDC dries, shrimp flies and many other patterns.
