Product Description

The Sears & Roebuck Model 3T was a .22 caliber semi-automatic rifle sold under the "Ted Williams" brand name by the Sears, Roebuck and Company. Here's a look at its history: Sears & Roebuck's Firearm Sales: Sears, Roebuck & Company had a long history of selling firearms through their mail-order catalogs and later in their retail stores. They didn't manufacture their own firearms but rather contracted with established gunmakers to produce them, often rebranding the models under their own names or specific product lines like "J.C. Higgins" and later "Ted Williams." The "Ted Williams" line of sporting goods, including firearms, was introduced in the 1960s, named after the famous baseball player. This aimed to capitalize on his popularity and project an image of quality and sporting prowess. The Model 3T's Origins: The Sears Model 3T was not a unique design created solely for Sears. Instead, it was a rebranded version of the Winchester Model 190. Winchester manufactured the Model 190 for Sears, who then sold it as the Model 3T under the Ted Williams name. This practice of "store brands" was common, allowing retailers like Sears to offer a wide range of products without the overhead of manufacturing.
