Silca Ultimate TPU Tube The TPU tube, refined. Many brands are making TPU tubes these days, but not all are created equal. With its first TPU tube, Silca set out (and succeeded) to engineer one that addressed the flaws that are common with other TPU options on the market, while retaining the clear advantages of TPU tubes. The Silca Ultimate TPU Tube is made from thermoplastic polyurethane, for reduced weight (up to 200g less) and a smaller pack size than a traditional butyl rubber tube, all with increased durability and lower rolling resistance. Silca also set out to create a tube with a more durable valve/tube interface, creating a patented mechanical attachment with a welded joint, to all but eliminate dreaded TPU valve failure. The tube is compatible with both rim and disc brake wheels, has a removable threaded valve core, and includes a patch and alcohol. This is the TPU tube, refined.
