What Our Gearhead(R) Experts Are Saying:"This is my go-to for powder days when I want to ride light but stay prepared. The Powder Rider 16 hugs close for active descents, fits just enough gear, and the dedicated avy tool pocket gives me peace of mind when venturing into sidecountry terrain."In knee-deep snow or charging through trees, the Ortovox Powder Rider 16L Backpack stays out of our way while giving us exactly what we need for short tours and freeride missions. With a sleek 16-liter capacity and a body-hugging ergonomic fit, it's designed for inbounds powder hunting, sidecountry bootpacks, and heli- or cat-accessed terrain where speed and freedom of movement matter. Ortovox's Full Contact Light Back System keeps the pack close and stable, while a padded hipbelt and sculpted shoulder straps help distribute weight for all-day comfort. Inside, there's a dedicated avalanche safety compartment, plus space for an extra layer and hydration system. Outside, the Powder Rider features diagonal ski carry, a snowboard holder, ice axe and pole attachments, and a helmet net-all in a compact, functional layout. Plus, a dedicated pocket makes it compatible with Ortovox's CLASP Spine Protector (sold separately) for added safety. From deep laps to storm-day tree lines, the Powder Rider 16 is built for freeride flow.
