Colt Firearms M5 Features The Colt Firearms M5 continues the lineage of the original Colt Commando delivering a compact 11.5 heavy barrel platform that trades some muzzle velocity for significantly improved handling in tight spaces. Its matte black hardcoat anodized receiver resists wear and corrosion across years of hard use while the 1-in-7 twist rate stabilizes the full range of 5.56 and .223 Rem bullet weights available on the market. An ambidextrous safety selector gives shooters fast intuitive manipulation from either firing side an important trait for close-quarters or home defense scenarios. Flip-up front and rear sights provide a reliable folding backup sighting system that stays out of the way until needed. The 4-position Magpul CTR collapsible stock lets shooters quickly adjust length of pull to account for body armor clothing layers or simply personal preference. An M-LOK handguard gives shooters a lightweight modular platform for mounting lights grips or other accessories without the added bulk of a quad rail system. Feeding from a 30-round magazine the M5 gives shooters ample capacity for both training and defensive use. Colt s reputation for building durable combat-proven rifles carries through this SBR making it a strong choice for shooters who need a compact reliable platform.
