This East India Company (EIC) Pattern 1842 percussion musket has the EIC lion on the lock and London proofs on the barrel. The 39" 75 caliber smooth bore barrel hs a good bore with light roughness. All metal parts exhibit a smooth brown patina. The brass buttplatee, nosecap, and trigger guard have a pleasing aged patina. The buttplate tang and trigger guard are stamped with Hindu characters. The stock is very good with scattered handling marks and dings and no chips or cracks. The swivels, ramrod, and Lovell bayonet catch are present. The action functions correctly.
