Product Description
MANUFACTURED: 1918. The Winchester Model 1907 is a pioneering, blowback-operated semi-automatic rifle chambered in the proprietary .351 Winchester Self-Loading (WSL) cartridge. Manufactured by the Winchester Repeating Arms Company from 1907 until 1957, the rifle utilized a unique operating mechanism that relied on a heavy counterweight concealed inside the wooden fore-end to delay the opening of the breech. Fed from detachable 5 round box magazines, the Model 1907 offered rapid firepower and a handy 20-inch barrel, though its solid steel-and-wood construction resulted in a relatively heavy weight of roughly 8 to 9 pounds. This particular rifle features a Williams rear aperture sight. The .351 WSL cartridge fired a 180-grain bullet at approximately 1,870 feet per second, providing effective short-range stopping power comparable to modern intermediate rifle rounds. Because of its reliability, rapid semi-automatic fire, and hard-hitting ballistics, the Model 1907 became highly favored by early 20th-century law enforcement agencies, prison guards, and depression-era gangsters alike, while also seeing specialized military service during World War I CONDITION: Good. The metal finish has given way to a silver patina. The bore has a light frost but is shiny with sharp rifling. Wood stocks are Very Good.
