Product Description
Tis hard to let this one go... A really hard-to-find Remington 700 "Mountain Rifle" chambered in the versatile .280 Remington. These were such great rifles for so many different hunting scenarios...From a pleasant lightweight rig for packing up the mountain for that high country elk hunt to the bean fields of the Midwest, the "Mountain Rifle" was/is just fantastic. "Was" because we'll likelly never see this fantastic version of the late great 700's ever made again, but "is" because...well...here it IS for someone to just jump on and keep on enjoying it for what it is. And bonus points for THIS ONE being chambered in .280 Rem. If you're reading this, then you know why the .280 Remington is great. It's everything the .270 is but with a little more smack-down and just shy of everything the 7mm Rem Mag is, but with noticeably less recoil. Nice! Date code on the this 700 Mountain is CH indicating it was produced in April of 1987 (so no bolt lock gizmo on this unit). She's topped with a nicely matched gloss Burris Fulfilled (Model) 3x-9x scope set in gloss rings. Overall, this Remington is in very good condition. Blueing is very good, bore is clean and looks very good as well, scope is a great match and very nice as well. *Stock has good character with Remington's straight grains-Some few field use marks are present. The are predominately on right side around the chamber area and in about exactly the same spot on the left side. Some marks on the left side of the butt stock as well. In addition, its previous owner did have the barrel professionally Mag-na-ported. *PLEASE EXAMINE ALL PHOTOS FOR YOUR REFERENCE. The Mountain Rifle in 280 is a handsome but ultra rare pure-bred hunter that hardly ever makes its way back to the market these days. Bid with confidence. You will not be disappointed
