MasterPiece Arms DN5 Bolt Action Muzzle Brake Features The Masterpiece Arms DN5 Bolt Action Muzzle Brake in .30 caliber is engineered specifically for cartridges that generate additional gas pressure and volume covering .308 Winchester 7mm PRC 7mm SAUM and any other cartridge .308 or smaller. Its design uses multiple blast ports to redirect propellant gas as it exits the muzzle using that redirected energy to counter the rifle s recoil impulse rather than letting it drive the muzzle up and back. A unique port pattern specifically channels gas upward which forces the muzzle down during firing rather than letting it rise naturally under recoil. That downward control keeps the sight picture on target through the shot letting a shooter watch trace and call their own impacts or misses for a faster follow up shot. Masterpiece Arms built the DN5 specifically with PRS style competition in mind where extreme recoil reduction during firing allows a shooter to stay on target through a string of fire rather than losing sight picture between shots. Using their own internal testing system MPA refined the port design to achieve a 63 percent reduction in recoil compared to an unbraked muzzle a substantial real world improvement for competitive and high volume shooters. The brake is machined from black nitrided high tensile strength steel for long term durability under repeated firing and threads on with a standard 5/8-24 thread pattern common to .308 class rifles. For PRS competitors and precision rifle shooters chambered in .308 Winchester or similar cartridges the Masterpiece Arms DN5 is a proven aggressive recoil management solution.
