Faxon Firearms AR-15 Forged Receiver Set Stripped Features The Faxon Firearms AR-15 Forged Receiver Set Stripped starts life as a 7075-T6 forged aluminum blank before being CNC machined to finished receiver geometry a process that holds tighter tolerances than cast alternatives. That forging step packs the aluminum grain structure tighter than casting can giving the finished upper and lower more strength per ounce of material. The tensioning screw built into the design lets a builder dial out the upper-to-lower slop that is common even on name-brand receivers tightening the whole rifle s feel. At 0.96 lbs for the set it keeps weight reasonable while still delivering a mil-spec pattern that accepts standard AR-15 parts and accessories. Finished in a black nitride coating over the synthetic stock finish the set resists wear and corrosion through years of range use and storage. Because the receivers follow the mil-spec pattern they accept standard mil-spec trigger groups pins springs and furniture without modification so builders are not locked into proprietary parts. Being made in the USA this receiver set comes from a domestic supply chain that many builders and collectors specifically look for in their rifle projects. Whether building a precision rig or a reliable range gun this stripped set gives a builder full control over every component that goes into the finished rifle.
