Faxon Firearms Enhanced Stripped Upper Receiver Features The Faxon Firearms Enhanced Stripped Upper Receiver starts life as a 7075-T6 forged aluminum blank then gets trued at the factory to correct the small inconsistencies left by standard mil-spec production. Faxon also hones the inside bore by hand smoothing the surface the bolt carrier group rides against for a cleaner more consistent cycling action. Tighter tolerances are held on the locking lugs giving a more secure fit between the upper and lower when assembled which helps keep the completed rifle shooting consistently over time. Finished in Type III hard coat anodizing over a black exterior the receiver resists wear and corrosion through heavy use holding up to repeated builds cleanings and range sessions. Weight reduction is built into the design through a hollowed-out shell deflector which trims mass without compromising the structure around the ejection port. Manually engraved T-marks are cut into the receiver and are designed to remain visible even after the anodizing process a small but useful reference during builds and maintenance down the road. At just 0.43 lbs this stripped upper adds minimal weight to a completed rifle while still being compatible with all intermediate cartridges aside from .458 and larger bore rounds giving builders flexibility across a range of AR-15 chamberings. For builders who want tighter tolerances and smoother function than a standard upper receiver the Faxon Enhanced Stripped Upper is a precision-focused foundation for an AR-15 build whether starting a new rifle from scratch or upgrading an existing one.
