American Built Arms Company Firing Pin Features The American Built Arms Company Firing Pin is machined from AISI 8740 steel a chromoly alloy chosen for its strength and resistance to fatigue under the repeated impact cycles a firing pin endures. Chrome plating over the steel body adds a hard slick surface that resists corrosion from carbon buildup and moisture while also reducing drag as the pin travels through the bolt. This mil-spec AR-15 dimensioned pin is built to fit standard 5.56 bolt carrier groups without modification making it a true drop-in replacement for worn or damaged factory pins. Shooters who put high round counts through their rifles benefit from a durable replacement part that keeps ignition consistent range trip after range trip. Because the firing pin follows mil-spec tolerances it is compatible with the vast majority of AR-15 bolt carrier groups on the market simplifying maintenance for owners running multiple rifles. Keeping a spare on hand is a smart practice for anyone who depends on their AR-15 for duty competition or home defense since a cracked or worn firing pin can take a rifle out of action at the worst time. The combination of 8740 steel and chrome plating gives this part the durability to serve as either a routine replacement or a dedicated spare in a maintenance kit. This American Built Arms Company firing pin is a small part that plays a critical role in keeping an AR-15 running reliably.
