Lella was one of several firearm makers operating in Suhl/Mehlis, Germany, a region renowned for high-quality sporting arms production during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Rifles chambered in 8.15x46R were especially popular for target shooting and stalking game throughout Germany and Central Europe. While the serial number alone does not allow for a definitive manufacture date, this rifle was likely produced in the early 1900s.
