Product Description

Sharps Bros Grip Module, Springfield Echelon Compact, 7075-T6 Aluminum, Midnight Bronze Cerakote/Black Anodized GripsThe Sharps Bros grip module for the Springfield Echelon replaces the factory polymer grip module with one machined from billet 7075-T6 aluminum. This version, Sharps Bros part number SBGM18, is finished in Midnight Bronze Cerakote with black anodized aluminum grips. Sharps Bros designed it as a direct replacement for the Springfield Echelon grip module, with a steeper grip angle, more pronounced ergonomic curves, a flared magazine well and a three-slot M1913 Picatinny accessory rail.Out of the box it seats Springfield's Echelon 4.0C compact 15-round magazines flush, which is why distributors list it as the Echelon Compact module. Add the separate Sharps Bros Echelon magazine funnel and the same module takes a full-size build with 17- or 21-round magazines.Turn your Echelon into a custom metal-framed pistol. Order the Sharps Bros Echelon grip module in Midnight Bronze and black from BattleHawk Armory.Billet 7075-T6 Aluminum ConstructionSharps Bros machines this module from a solid billet of 7075-T6 aluminum, a high-strength aerospace alloy. Compared with the OEM polymer module, the aluminum frame feels rigid and solid in the hand. Sharps Bros lists its module at about 8 ounces (measured with wood panels), roughly double the 4-ounce OEM polymer grip module. That added weight sits low in the grip, where it helps soak up recoil and keeps the muzzle flatter during fast strings of fire.Midnight Bronze Cerakote with Black Anodized GripsThe aluminum frame wears a Midnight Bronze Cerakote finish, and the grip panels are black anodized aluminum with an aggressive diamond texture. Cerakote is a thin, hard ceramic coating that resists wear, corrosion and chemicals, and the two-tone bronze and black look sets your Echelon apart from a stock polymer gun.Steeper Grip Angle and Ergonomic CurvesThe OEM Echelon grip angle is about 18 degrees. The Sharps Bros module uses a steeper angle of about 13 degrees and more pronounced ergonomic curves. Shooters who prefer a 1911-style grip angle often find a steeper angle brings the sights up more naturally on target. The reshaped trigger guard has an undercut and finger grooves, which let your hand ride higher and give your support hand a secure place to lock in for more control.Flared Magazine WellA flared magazine well opens up the bottom of the grip so the magazine finds its way in during fast reloads. It is a feature you usually see on competition and custom pistols, and Sharps Bros machines it right into the module.M1913 Picatinny Accessory RailThe dust cover has a three-slot M1913 Picatinny accessory rail for a weapon light or laser. Sharps Bros says the module fits standard Echelon holsters, so you can keep using your current holster setup (holster fit with a mounted light depends on the holster).Compact and Full Size BuildsWithout the funnel, the module seats Springfield's 4.0C compact 15-round magazines flush, which gives you a compact grip length for carry. Sharps Bros says the module seats all Springfield OEM Echelon 9mm magazines. If you want a full-size build with 17- or 21-round magazines, Sharps Bros recommends its separate Echelon magazine funnel, which the module is designed to accept. The funnel is not included with this module.Uses Your Echelon's Fire Control UnitThe Echelon is built around a removable, serialized fire control unit that Springfield calls the Central Operating Group (COG). This Sharps Bros module is the grip frame only. The fire control unit is not included. You move the COG from your Echelon into the Sharps Bros module, just as you would with any Springfield replacement grip module. Because the module is not the serialized part, it is sold as an accessory and does not require an FFL transfer. What Is Included and What Is NotYou get the Sharps Bros aluminum grip module with its black anodized aluminum grip panels installed. Sharps Bros notes that the fire control unit and the magazine release assembly are not included. Reuse the magazine release assembly from your stock module, or buy a new Springfield OEM Echelon magazine release assembly. The magazine funnel for full-size builds is sold separately.
