Hornady Custom 6mm ARC, 90gr CX, 20-Round Box Hornady Custom 6mm ARC ammunition loads the 90-grain CX bullet for hunters who want a lead-free copper alloy bullet that expands reliably and holds together for deep penetration. Each box holds 20 cartridges built for medium game in the 50 to 300 pound class, from deer and pronghorn to hogs and coyotes, fired from AR-15 platform rifles and bolt guns chambered in 6mm ARC. The 6mm ARC was designed to deliver efficient, high-BC performance from the AR-15 platform, and this new Custom load pairs the cartridge with one of Hornady's most advanced hunting bullets. It is a smart choice where non-lead hunting ammunition is preferred or required. Shop Hornady Custom 6mm ARC 90gr CX at BattleHawk Armory. A lead-free hunting load built for the AR-15 and compact bolt rifles. 90-Grain CX Bullet The CX (Copper alloy eXpanding) is a monolithic bullet made from a copper alloy, so there is no lead core to separate. It expands in a controlled way and retains most of its weight for deep penetration on game. A Heat Shield polymer tip resists aerodynamic heating in flight and starts expansion on impact, and the bullet's grooves reduce bearing surface and fouling. This 90-grain CX carries a G1 ballistic coefficient of .418 and a sectional density of .195. Hornady Custom Ammunition Every round of Hornady Custom ammunition is hand inspected before packaging, giving hunters the advantage of handloaded accuracy in a factory load. Custom ammunition balances expansion and penetration and is well suited to medium-sized game. Most Custom loads use bullets with a secant ogive, a profile developed by Hornady that blends ballistic efficiency and bearing surface for flatter shooting and less drag.
