The barrel has a 1:24 rate of twist.Order the CVA Cascade XT in 450 Bushmaster from BattleHawk Armory and get it shipped to your local dealer.Barrel and AccuracyThis model has a 22 inch steel barrel with a Graphite Black Cerakote finish and a 1:24 twist. The muzzle is threaded 5/8x24, so you can add a muzzle brake to tame recoil or a suppressor where it is legal, and protect the threads with the cap when nothing is mounted. Barrel length is a balance between velocity and handling. A longer barrel lets the powder burn more completely for more velocity, which matters most with magnum cartridges, while a shorter barrel is quicker to swing and easier to carry through timber.Stock and HandlingThe stock is adj w / soft touch, od green. A synthetic stock is not affected by rain and humidity the way wood can be, so the point of impact stays consistent from a dry morning to a wet evening, and it stands up to bumps on the climb into a stand or the truck ride home.Sights and OpticsBefore you buy rings or a mount, confirm the base pattern for this model in the owner's manual or with our team, and zero with the projectile and charge you plan to hunt with.About the CVA Cascade PlatformThe Cascade is CVA's centerfire bolt action hunting rifle. It uses a two-lug push-feed bolt with a 70 degree throw, which gives more room between the bolt handle and the scope, and a detachable box magazine. The synthetic stock is built to shrug off rain and rough handling.About the 450 BushmasterThe 450 Bushmaster has wide factory ammunition support, so you can find hunting and practice loads for it at most sporting goods counters. Zero the rifle with the exact load you plan to hunt with and stay with it through the season, because changing loads can move your point of impact.Care and Setup TipsBefore the season, check that the action screws are snug, mount your scope with quality rings, and zero at the distance you expect to shoot. Confirm your zero again after travel. After each outing, wipe the metal down, run a patch through the bore, and store the firearm dry. A little care keeps the rifle accurate and protects the finish for years.About CVACVA (Connecticut Valley Arms) has built muzzleloaders since 1971 and today is part of BPI Outdoors, which also includes Bergara, PowerBelt and Durasight. Many CVA rifles use barrels made by Bergara, the barrel maker CVA owns in Spain, and the company is known for putting accurate, practical hunting rifles within reach of everyday hunters.Ordering and ShippingFirearms purchased online must be transferred through a federally licensed dealer.
