The Strategic Sciences MFMD in 5.56 NATO with 0.7" OTB clearance pairs the base muzzle device with the extended Suppressor Device (SDX) module, giving shooters the highest level of sound suppression available in the MFMD line while keeping the system compact. Constructed from 3D-printed Inconel with a flow-through internal geometry, the MD+SDX combo achieves sub-140 dB hearing-safe performance along with major reductions in first-round flash and felt recoil, all while holding bolt velocity change to a minimum for reliable cycling. Installation is direct-thread onto 1/2x28 barrels using the included shims and torque tool, with no adapters needed. Because the system telescopes back over the barrel instead of extending forward of the muzzle, it preserves barrel length and keeps added weight closer to the receiver for better balance than a conventional suppressor of similar performance. Finished in Black, this configuration represents the full-performance end of the MFMD system for 5.56 platforms. Strategic Sciences 5.56 NATO 1/2x28 Multi-Functional Muzzle Device w/ Ext.
