What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:"I never thought I'd sleep this well in the backcountry until I tried the MegaMat. The 4-inch open-cell foam feels like a real mattress, offering plenty of support while keeping me warm on cold nights. The self-inflating design is super convenient, and I love that I can fine-tune the firmness to my liking. Whether I'm car camping or setting up a basecamp, this pad is a game-changer for comfort."There is a version of camping where the gear disappears and the experience takes over. The Exped MegaMat is the sleeping pad that makes that possible. Four inches of open-cell foam self-inflates to deliver the kind of support and pressure relief that doesn't ask you to compromise between warmth and comfort. An R-value of 8. 1 means cold ground stays where it belongs, and the air-core channeled insulation minimizes bulk without giving anything back on the warmth side. The surface is 100% recycled tricot polyester, soft against bare skin in a way that standard pad materials aren't, and the vertical sidewalls push usable sleeping area to the edges rather than tapering away underneath you. Two one-way valves handle inflation and deflation without fuss, and firmness adjusts to preference once the pad is up. A roll-top stuff sack and included repair kit round out a sleeping pad built for the camper who has decided that sleeping well in the field is not a luxury but a baseline requirement.
