Discover the precision and versatility of the Hornady 7mm .284 162 gr ELD-X bullets, engineered for serious hunters and reloaders seeking reliable performance across all practical shooting distances. These 100-count projectiles combine advanced aerodynamics with proven terminal ballistics, making them an ideal choice for 7mm rifle loads where accuracy and controlled expansion are essential. Advanced Design for Superior Ballistics Heat Shield tip maintains its shape despite aerodynamic heating, delivering highest-in-class ballistic coefficients verified by Doppler radar for flat trajectories and wind resistance. Streamlined secant ogive, optimum boattail, and highly concentric AMP jackets enhance aerodynamic efficiency for match-grade accuracy in a hunting bullet. Designed for 1:9.5" twist barrels, ensuring stable flight in compatible 7mm firearms. Reliable Terminal Performance At conventional ranges (0-400 yards), the ELD-X expands consistently through its penetration path while retaining 50-60% of its weight thanks to the thick jacket shank and InterLock ring. Beyond 400 yards, the Heat Shield tip initiates expansion on lower-velocity impacts, producing a large mushroom with 85-90% weight retention for deep penetration and effective wound channels. Why Choose Hornady ELD-X Bullets All-range hunting capability eliminates the need for multiple bullet types, simplifying your reloading setup. Match-accurate construction supports tight groups at extended distances without sacrificing expansion reliability. Non-lead-free polymer-tipped design provides the balance of velocity retention and terminal effect demanded by ethical hunters.
