Je Machine Tech A2 Birdcage Features The Je Machine Tech A2 Birdcage uses the same open prong design that has defined the A2 profile for decades venting muzzle gases outward to reduce visible flash signature during low light and night fire. Carbon steel construction gives the flash hider the strength to withstand repeated firing without deforming at the prongs while the black oxide finish resists corrosion and keeps the device looking factory correct. At 1.76 inches in length and a compact 0.84 inch diameter it adds minimal length to a carbine or rifle length barrel. The 1/2x28 thread pattern matches the standard .223 Remington and 5.56 NATO muzzle thread making installation straightforward on nearly any AR-15 pattern upper. Included with the flash hider is a crush washer which allows the device to be properly timed and torqued onto the barrel without the need for shims. This makes the A2 Birdcage a simple complete solution for builders assembling a retro clone rifle or replacing a damaged or missing muzzle device on an existing build. At just 2.29 ounces it adds negligible weight to the front of the rifle while still delivering the flash reduction shooters have relied on for generations. Whether chasing historical accuracy or simply wanting a reliable inexpensive muzzle device this A2 Birdcage is a straightforward upgrade for any 1/2x28 threaded barrel.
